During our trip to the lake district of Cumbria in Northern England, we excavated a Scottish fishing boat from the harbor floor during low tide. It had been under water for approximately 30 years, we re-assembled it and floated it on Coniston lake where Donald Cambell died breaking his own speedboat record. Raising a dead fishing boat led us to other ideas of resurrection. From resurrecting Lazarus via the ping-pong ball technique, as inspired by a Donald Duck cartoon, to salvaging unhealthy blue crabs from Chinatown are re-animating them in our simulated marine environment. From there the piece documents various adventures from our experiences in Northern England and back home. From our rafting projects in the NYC East River to individuals like Ken Russel who informed us about Millican Dalton who sailed up river on his home made raft, giving tours and living in a tent. Other documented artifacts include Adam Sutherland’s collection of Soul ‘45s and Olivia Plender’s Kibbo Kift parade.
